Meet Courtney: Caring for the Details, and the People

Director of Operations at The Grove| Dermalogica Expert

Courtney has been part of The Grove for almost four years and brings with her approximately fifteen years of experience in the spa and wellness industry. As Director of Operations, she’s the steady presence behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly while staying deeply connected to client care and the heart of the spa.

“I love being part of the bigger picture here,” she says. “Supporting a team that genuinely cares about their craft is what makes this role so meaningful for me.”

Alongside her leadership role, Courtney is also a Certified Dermalogica Expert who knows the Dermalogica line inside and out. Her facials are thoughtful, results-driven, and deeply relaxing — always tailored to the client in front of her, with a focus on long-term skin health rather than quick fixes.

Her Role at The Grove

While Courtney’s role centres on operations, systems, and support, she still loves being hands-on with clients. One of her favourite services to perform is character nail art, which gives her the freedom to lean into her artistic side.

"It lets me show my artistic side,” she explains. “I love when a service feels more like creating something than just doing something.”

That same creativity carries into every part of her work, from treatments to leadership to problem-solving behind the scenes.

The Products She Can't Live Without

When it comes to daily essentials, Courtney has two favourites she swears by.

Fresh.Hair by Kevin Murphy saves my fringe daily,” she laughs. “And Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant absolutely saved my skin.”

She gravitates toward products that are effective, uncomplicated, and truly deliver results — especially when it comes to maintaining healthy skin and consistent routines at home.

A Wellness Truth She Stands By

There’s one thing Courtney wishes every client knew, and she shares it without hesitation.

“You never have to apologize for body hair. We all have it. You’re normal, and if you last-minute shave your legs before a pedicure out of embarrassment — stop it.”

For Courtney, wellness is about comfort, autonomy, and removing shame from self-care altogether. Her priority is making each guest feel welcomed and comfortable — creating a true zero-judgement zone in her spa room!

Trends She’s Loving

When it comes to skincare routines, Courtney is fully committed to one thing.

“Double cleansing till death,” she says. “Face, hair. Thank me later.”

As a Certified Dermalogica Expert, Courtney believes education is a key part of every facial. She takes time to explain what your skin needs, why certain products are being used, and how to maintain results at home without overwhelming your routine.

Her approach is grounded in consistency, simplicity, and long-term skin health — focusing on habits that actually work, not trends for the sake of trends.

A Little More About Courtney

Courtney’s drink of choice is a Starbucks Venti Iced Shaken Espresso with breve, no classic syrup, and four pumps of sugar-free vanilla — what she proudly calls the nectar of life. Her ultimate comfort food is waffles, always.

Courtney’s dream vacation destination is Transylvania — bats and all. Her first concert was *NSYNC, her friends would describe her as silly, and she always has snacks in her bag.

If she could give a treatment to any celebrity, it would be Jack Black without hesitation.

Outside of work, Courtney loves to draw and create. “I make stickers for my Etsy shop on the side, it’s a really fun creative outlet for me.” If she weren’t in the spa and wellness industry, she knows she’d still be creating. “Definitely somewhere in the art field, that part of me isn’t going anywhere.”

What Courtney loves most about working at The Grove is the people. “I love working with a solid group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about their craft, that energy makes all the difference.”

In Her Treatment Room

When clients leave Courtney’s treatment room, her hope is simple.

“I want people to feel lighter, whether it’s a quick brow cleanup or a rejuvenating facial, self-care is so important, and we all deserve a moment of bliss.”

Her treatments are known for being nurturing, thoughtful, and genuinely effective, grounded in expertise and delivered with care.
